Free Fall for MS

Skydive Vancouver Island is proud to support the FreeFall For MS Foundation and their focus on Multiple Sclerosis on Vancouver Island. According to MS Canada, "Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 1 in every 385 Canadians living with the disease. While it is most often diagnosed in young adults aged 20 to 49, younger children and older adults are also diagnosed with the disease."

Last season one of our beloved experienced skydivers was diagnosed with MS. Nick is a young and active individual but nothing prepared him for the changing effect MS would have on his life. Instead of giving up, Nick has fought back and now is dedicated and passionate about educating people about MS. His focus has turned to not only raising awareness about MS in our community, but also sharing his love for skydiving by spearheading the first ever in Canada Free Fall for MS fundraising event right here at Skydive Vancouver Island in Qualicum Beach, BC!

Nick's message to you:

"Raising awareness on the ground is one thing; but we're taking it to a jumping altitude 😎✈ !

For those that don't know, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis last year. Like a lot of people, the letters "MS" didn't mean a thing to me. I'm eager to raise awareness about the disease & help educate people (as well as myself). Thanks to Gord Gauvin & Allison Cooney at Skydive Vancouver Island, Tamara Szewczyk, & the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, we will be hosting a skydiving fundraiser event in the beautiful Qualicum Beach; Not only for skydivers, but for each & every individual / family to have some serious fun & get educated !

Proceeds donated to my non-profit organization (Freefall for MS Foundation), as well as any money raised from the upcoming raffle (SO stoked on releasing these details!), will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Personally, it would be an honor if I could make a change in 1 person's life affected by Multiple Sclerosis, but if this event can do above & beyond just that, then all the better !..

This amazing event will be held June 14th - 16th 2019 and is something the whole family can attend! Whether you are an experienced skydiver, wanting to go for a Tandem Skydive, or just want to come out and support a great cause we have you covered. When you go for a Tandem Skydive anytime from Friday, June 14th to Sunday, June 16th 2019 a portion of your skydive cost will be donated to the FreeFall For MS Foundation. It's easy to reserve your Tandem Skydive for this event by simply going to BOOK NOW on our website and reserving your spot during these dates! A $75 deposit is taken upon booking to reserve your Tandem Skydive for this event with the remaining balance due upon arriving at your scheduled time. All Tandem Skydive Students must meet the following safety criteria.

• Tandem Skydive Students must 16 years of age or older
• Students 16 & 17 years of age require parent/guardian consent​
• Tandem Skydive Students must complete in full Skydive Vancouver Islands Liability Waiver prior to their skydive
• Tandem Skydive Students must be within the weight range criteria
• Male Students must be over 90lbs (40.8kgs) and below 230lbs (104.3kgs)
• Female Students must be over 90lbs (40.8kgs) and below 200lbs (90.7kgs)

- Saturday night come out for an aircraft hanger party featuring The Big Sky Wanderers! Tickets are by donation at the door and the band will start playing around 8:30pm. There is beer and wine available for sale and we ask that you do not bring your own alcohol on the premise due to liquor licensing policy.
